Helicopter Twirls Wildly into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Beach
A helicopter hovering over a crowded southern California coastline unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Videos uploaded on the internet depict the helicopter commencing to spiral above the beach then falling towards the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters reported five people were transported to a medical facility comprising two who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.

The department said the helicopter was associated with an regular “Cars and Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the following day.
